PlayWise offers fun and engaging group classes for young children and their carers. We facilitate learning through purposeful play and movement. Children are given the freedom to choose from the play invitations and equipment that sparks their own curiosity.
The PlayWise environment is supportive and calming, and has been carefully designed to encourage thoughtful exploration and movement.

Meet Samantha
Samantha HodgkIn
The classes are facilitated by Samantha, an experienced primary school teacher and mum, with a passion for child-centred play. As a teacher, Samantha has always sought out ways for children to learn in a playful way. She has also observed first-hand the importance of fine and gross motor skill development for social and academic success.
As a mum of two active boys, she understands that young children are happiest when given regular opportunities to move. After having her first child, Samantha developed a special interest in Montessori and Reggio Emilia education. She has observed the positive affects that these environments have on children and the learning opportunities they produce. Samantha has also noted how a calm, ordered environment with open-ended resources supports children to play imaginatively and co-operatively for extended periods. Samantha loves nothing more than using children’s interests to inspire new invitations to play and being there to support their learning in a fun way.
Samantha’s vision is to create a welcoming and playful space for young children and their carers to move, play and grow together.
